LGBT Life at University

Welcome to NTU Pride's guide to LGBT life at university! Going away from home gives you independence and a real chance to be yourself - you may be just coming to terms with your sexuality, or wanting to come out to friends, or your family. It's not always easy being LGBT, but there are people here who can help. Beyond LGBT issues, there are many more issues you might face at university, which we will also aim to cover here.

We hope the information here will be useful, but if you do have problems, one of your first points of contact should be the Student Advice Centre in the Students Union, who are trained to properly deal with LGBT issues.

Getting more help

Beyond the SAC, there are many more people out there who you can contact for help. If you'd like another student to talk to you, you can contact the NTU Pride Committee who can meet you, or you can contact one of the many organisations and groups around Nottingham who offer support and advice services. For details of many of the Nottingham groups targeted at LGBT people, check out our Community Links page.
